Production Process

Honey or mead nectar is a spirit drink produced from the mixture of fermented honey mash with honey distillate and / or alcohol of agricultural origin.   The mixture must contain at least 30% vol. of fermented honey mash.

Natural flavouring substances and flavouring preparations may also be used in honey or mead nectar but the honey taste must be predominant.  If the spirit is sweetened, it can only be with honey.

Strength

Honey or mead nectar sold to consumers has a minimum alcoholic strength of 22% vol..

The addition of flavours, honey and colour.

Not allowed

Any sweetening other than honey.
