Production Process
Väkevä glögi or spritglögg is a spirit drink made by flavouring alcohol of agricultural origin with flavour of cloves and / or flavour of cinnamon. The method of flavouring can be one or a combination of the following: (a) maceration and / or distillation, (b) re-distillation of the alcohol in the presence of parts of cinnamon and cloves, and (c) the addition of natural flavouring substances of cloves or cinnamon.
Other flavourings, flavouring substances and / or flavouring preparations can also be used in the production of väkevä glögi or spritglögg but the predominant flavour must be cinnamon and / or cloves. In addition, wine or wine products can be used provided they do not comprise more than 50% of the final product.
